If you’re a landscaper, designer, or nursery professional wanting to get the latest on the law, water efficient irrigation, and knowledge of the best waterwise plants, you can’t afford to miss this ½ day workshop. We’ll have speakers and displays from the UC Davis Arboretum, Normac, Regional Water Authority, Shades of Green Horticulture, and High Ranch Nursery. Lunch is included with your registration.

About the Speakers

Ellen Zagory

Ellen Zagory serves as a spokesperson for the UC Davis Arboretum in their education and outreach program promoting more sustainable garden plants and practices. She has appeared on Hewell Howser’s PBS Road trip, DIY TV and KFBK’s Get Growing with Farmer Fred. She also has written a series for Pacific Horticulture Magazine on the UC Davis Arboretum All Star program, and travels the state lecturing to UCCE master Gardeners and regional garden clubs about beautiful heat tolerant and low water use plants.

Vicky Bartish

Vicky Bartish, owner of Shades of Green Horticulture, has the practical experience of many years working in both retail and wholesale nurseries, specializing in the establishment, care and growing of trees and landscape plants. She served 2 terms as President of the Superior Chapter of the California Assoc of Nurseries and Garden Centers. She serves on the Board of Ecolandscape California, is a Certified Arborist, and EPA WaterSense Partner.

Tony Kerr

Tony Kerr is Branch Manager for the Rocklin location of Normac Inc, supplier for Landscape and Irrigation Products. Tony started with the store 24 years ago, and has been manager for 22. He regularly attends continuing education courses through the industry to keep up with new products and designs.

Linda Higgins, Harley Lukenbill, and Audra Davison

Linda Higgins is the Regional Water Efficiency Manager for Regional Water Authority (RWA), a joint powers authority that serves and represents the interests of over 20 water providers and associated agencies in the greater Sacramento area. Linda will be at a table all morning, available as a resource for questions and information gathering. In addition, Harley Lukenbill - Water Efficiency Manager and Audra Davison - Water Efficiency Specialist, both with Placer County Water Agency, will be on hand to answer questions.
